Sophie & Winston – Dallas, TX Day in the Life

May 21, 2020

They say the friendships you make in college will last a lifetime. This is true, even if you are a dog.

In the winter of 2010, Sophie and Winston were adopted by a pair of college roommates. Their relationship blossomed as the pups supported their moms through late nights cramming for tests, lazy Saturday mornings, and eventually college graduation. Packing up their lives for the past few years, the pair eventually had to say their goodbyes as life moved their families in different directions. Neither knew how long it would be until they would be reunited again.

Unfortunately, the circumstances for their next meeting would not be as joyous. As the years passed, Sophie and Winston lived beautiful and rich lives — one in Texas, the other in Arkansas. Winston gained a dad and a sibling. Sophie continued to support her mom through law school and a new relationship. Then, just a few months ago both dogs, now reaching their golden years, received terminal news.

With just a few months left to live, it was time for a reunion. Sophie and Winston made the trek to Dallas and both families met for one last weekend of laughter and tears, remembering the good times and making new memories. The wine was flowing and so were the raw green beans.
