Valet Living – Commercial Shoot

October 15, 2019

Although so much of my work is focused on birth, families, and documentary storytelling, that’s not all I do. I have been really lucky to be able to work with Valet Living over the last couple of years as a commercial client. Valet Living is a service provided to apartment and residential facilities across the country. They set the standard in premium home-related amenity services, turn services, maintenance support, and pet solutions. In other words, they provide various services to residents of participating apartment complexes, and are really good at what they do!

For this photo shoot, the goal was three-fold. First, Valet Living wanted to showcase their brand new app. Residents that live in participating complexes get access to an app where they can request pet services, cleaning, and waste disposal, among a few other things. Second, my strength is storytelling, so Valet Living reached out to me directly because they wanted to capture the stories of the interactions between residents using the Valet Living app and staff. Along with this, they wanted images of staff performing the services while residents were away from their apartment. Basically, the goal was to be different than the run-of-the-mill stock images you see all over the internet. Real people, real stories. Finally, they wanted to showcase the app itself, and residents using the app for actual services.

Working with Valet Living has been really fun and stretched me out of my comfort zone a little bit. It has been great to use what I consider are my personal strengths to help a commercial client with branding and telling their own story.
