After following Aaron and Daniela through their engagement, wedding, and adoptions, last year I also had the honor of capturing the birth of the 5th addition to the family: Zion.
When I got the text saying that Daniela’s water broke around 11:30am on Saturday and contractions hadn’t started yet, I thought surely this baby would be born late or even in the middle of the night the next day. But boy was I wrong! By 5pm I was at the birth center and at 6:30pm Zion made his speedy entrance.
Daniela labored beautifully with the support of her midwives (the one and only My Sister’s Keeper), husband and doula. She listened to her body and moved into the positions that felt best for her, ultimately bringing her baby boy into the world at the birth center just like she wanted.
