If you’re a parent you may be like me and feeling a little stir crazy. Rather than focusing on what I can’t do right now, I’ve decided to be more intentional about what I can do. So I pulled out my camera and followed my kids around for a bit. On this gloomy day, Paisley was hosting a gallery opening with interactive creation exhibit.
Lyla played “Pop Goes the Weasel” on repeat and at high speeds while we were instructed to walk around and view some of the pieces that the local artists and other guests to the exhibit had made. Paisley told us each piece was made using different techniques. My favorite was definitely the one made of pink craft feathers and glitter glue. The technique involved so much cutting and glitter glueing they spilled out of the gallery and all over the dining room as well.
The interactive exhibit allowed us to participate and create art alongside the artists. By passing crayons back and forth, each person was given a turn to add to the piece one line at a time. The artists were very gracious with our amateur attempts.
I give this gallery opening five stars and will definitely be visiting again the next time it comes around. Although, I hope the feather technique is phased out as soon as possible.
