The Coats Family – Dallas Adoption Photographer

November 12, 2019

It’s always special to work with families for a long period of time over several years. When you do this, you see families grow and change. You get to watch as teens move into adulthood. You witness children born, love grow, and lives transform from one thing to another.

This has truly been the case for the Coats family. My family has known Daniela and Aaron for years, since we were in school together with Aaron. Daniela’s dad was my main college professor. We’ve attended the same church as Daniela and Aaron for several years now. Later, my husband and I were convinced by her dad to participate in something called Royal Family Kids Camp. This camp is designed especially for children in foster care.

The love and care that Daniela’s parents have for children in need has made a huge impact on Daniela and Aaron. Before they had any “bio” kids (a story I’ll tell another day) they felt the desire to show that same love for foster children, eventually adopting Micaiah, Jubilee, Eden, and Justice.

Foster Parent Life

At first, Daniela and Aaron fostered Micaiah, Jubilee, and Eden. When all three of kids were with them, Daniela asked me to do a motherhood session for Mother’s Day to commemorate Daniela becoming a foster mom.

First Adoption

Not long after, Daniela and Aaron were able to adopt all three of the kiddos, and they started their new life as the Coats family.

Second Adoption

And then, Justice (we all affectionately call her Squish) came along, and joined this amazing family.

The Birth of Zion

Then earlier this year, baby Zion joined the group and it was also my first time photographing a birth for their family! But that’s a blog for another day :).
