It was a warm July evening, I was enjoying some down time busy editing photos while my husband and kiddos were down the street at running club. In the span of just a few minutes, I received a text that set off a really quick chain of events.
8:11pm – Krisha, the doula, texts me that the client thinks her water broke and she’s heading over to check in on her.
8:15pm – Text from client: “Please come.”
8:17pm – Driving to client’s home.
8:35pm – Arrive at client’s house to see her holding her brand new baby.
When I walked in it was all smiles from mom and dad, doula, and midwife Traci! The entire birth time missed this speedy birth and although I remind myself often, the unpredictable nature of birth still makes me shake my head and smile. This mom and dad went from water breaking to dad catching his baby in the bathroom in a matter of minutes.
