If you’re anything like me and my family, Christmas cards are on the list of things to do every year… and we procrastinate long enough that we don’t end up sending anything out. The holidays are always crazy. We have at least four sets of parents/grandparents that we want to see, along with extended family. Not to mention the end of the school semester, Thanksgiving, and gearing up for Christmas. That makes planning ahead hard!
Here’s the thing: my hope this year is this changes for us and for you. To help you do this, I put together five ideas for Christmas cards that should help you stay on top of it this year.
- Order your Christmas cards before Thanksgiving (it’s next week!), and send them out 2-3 weeks before Christmas, no earlier than the first week of December.
- Make sure to order more Christmas cards than you think (to send to people who send one to you, but you forgot about!).
- Consider non-traditional Christmas photos. Maybe a crying kid with Santa, your pup or cat doing something silly, or “day in the life” style photos.”
- Include a handwritten note in your cards — people love getting real mail from real people!
- For goodness’ sake, send a real card! It’s always more meaningful to get a physical reminder of family than an email that will get buried in an inbox somewhere.
One of the things I’m excited about this year is that all of my current clients’ online galleries and shops have been updated! There are new Christmas card options, new print options, and lots to browse through. If you’re looking for heirlooms for your home, or a chance to not procrastinate on Christmas cards this year, check out your online gallery. When you click on any of your images, you’ll get the chance to purchase it as a print, wall art or card.
And as always, if you need help, just send me a message. I’m here for you 🙂
